Show
[edit]This program is heavily watched. There's an interest in developing the article. Bleucheeses (talk) 04:57, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
- You're chasing people off, perhaps, Who. Not only that but you are saying this is not a forum. This IS A forum to discuss. I don't know how you remove someone's commentary because they employed humor. Keep in mind this could be someone who has never been on Wikipedia. I think you should learn more about the site and perhaps re-evaluate your treatment of new people. Bleucheeses (talk) 02:01, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- Before you jump on me for this please read the TWO notices at the top of the page followed by WP:Talk Page Guidelines and WP:NOTAFORUM. Wikipedia talk pages are NOT a forum and talk pages are for discussions about improvements to the article. Not a discussion about the show itself. This show was the most watched show the day this season premiered and if we allowed everyone who had a personal thought about the show to post on this page there would be no room for any other discussions. It would be a lot better to set a precedent now or it is going to be a long summer. Thanks! :) TheDoctorWho (talk) 02:04, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- The person was commenting on what I posted, not on the show. Again, re-think how you operate on here. You are on the fringes if not out in limbo at times. Why you think this way is not clear or actually it can be very puzzling. Bleucheeses (talk) 02:09, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- The person commented on an act that appeared on the show it was in no way, shape, or form a response to an interest in developing an article that had already been created. TheDoctorWho (talk) 02:13, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- I am about done here. I can ask them, they were talking to me and saying nothing about the show. Bleucheeses (talk) 02:16, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hypothetically if that was the case this would still not be the place for that. Wikipedia is not a social media website. At this point on an unrelated note you may want to go ahead and read all of what Wikipedia is not TheDoctorWho (talk) 02:20, 3 June 2018 (UTC)

- Who, if you want to start a poll, go ahead... Bleucheeses (talk) 02:28, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- There was NO baby on the show, obviously the poster was not talking about what you thought. Bleucheeses (talk) 02:29, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- Per how to use a talk page:
Stay on topic: Talk pages are for discussing the article, not for general conversation about the article's subject (much less other subjects). Keep discussions focused on how to improve the article. Comments that are plainly irrelevant are subject to archival or removal.

- Per how to use a talk page:
@Bleucheeses: Allow me to attempt to work through this for you: "Baby" is referring to the young girl from this audition which can be seen here. "Put the guns down" is referring to lyrics from the audition which can also be seen at the same link. "The most amazing public announcement ever" (seeing as your comment was not a public announcement) is referring to the message this person was trying to get across by their audition which once again can be seen at the same link. Need me to explain anything further? TheDoctorWho (talk) 02:57, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- Also I am able to see by edit history that you attempted to start a poll. Please note that polling is NOT a substitute for discussion TheDoctorWho (talk) 03:31, 3 June 2018 (UTC)

- Back to the Buzzer. Why are there objections to mentioning the only two Golden Buzzer contestants who won the show? Paul Zerdin also won and could be mentioned, however he got a Golden Buzzer during the Judge Cuts round not like the other two, Farmer and Vanderwaal. It is noteworthy that from the acts that got a Buzzer there are two winners. To leave it out or omit it is strange. Bleucheeses (talk) 12:41, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
- The golden buzzer section must talk about the current season, not the past ones. The information about the winning golden buzzer acts is more appropriate in the show's article. -Hiwilms (talk) 12:48, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
- Where do you see that, hi w? You're pulling that from somewhere and it's murky. Bleucheeses (talk) 03:48, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
- General trivia regarding the golden buzzer fits better on the America's Got Talent article, not on the season articles. You may want to check out how I and the other editors did Pilipinas Got Talent#Golden Buzzer, Pilipinas Got Talent (season 5), Pilipinas Got Talent (season 6), Asia's Got Talent#Golden Buzzer, Asia's Got Talent (season 1), and Asia's Got Talent (season 2). -Hiwilms (talk) 08:57, 6 June 2018 (UTC)

"Golden buzzer" back and forth
[edit]Bleucheeses, Your edits have been reverted by more than one person, and I suggest that you use this thread to DISCUSS your proposed changes to allow a consensus of all editors to develop. If you edit war again, it will be extremely disruptive of you, and I will not hesitate to file a report in the appropriate forum. It is over to you to explain why your changes are an improvement on the status quo. - SchroCat (talk) 09:57, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
- Using my powers of deduction you were drawn into this from some noticeboard. Clearly people on this site often don't care about improving articles. They would rather accumulate edits, stir up whoever, anything but what the site is designed for. You could have left my edit alone and started the thread here, you didn't. They could have started threads on here - they didn't want to and didn't see a need to do that. It's a little laughable, really. Having to debate the merits of the purpose or use of the special buzzer - no geniuses needed to see the correlation. Also the link to Cowell talking about the success of implementing said buzzer - again nothing really far out there either. Back to you, whoever you are. Bleucheeses (talk) 10:15, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
- A consensus is impossible, go herd some cats to find more of a chance of that. Oh, I created this article. It's a joke how you guys treat people. Bleucheeses (talk) 10:17, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
- Pretty much the same edit summary I left removing something you posted a little earlier: "This is rather pointy and unnecessary. Please keep your comments to discussing edits and contents, not posting unconstructive slurs on other editors". You would do well to cast a glance over WP:NPA, with its excellent advice of "
Comment on content, not on the contributor
". A consensus is not impossible – it's the very basis of how WP works and develops (another boring page for you to read is WP:consensus – "Consensus refers to the primary way decisions are made on Wikipedia, and it is accepted as the best method to achieve our goals
…", etc). Whether you created the article or not gives you no more say in it than anyone else, and you really can have no complaints about people re-editing anything you write: again, it's how we do things and how articles develop (a third quote from a policy page for you – this one from WP:OWN: "Once you have posted it to Wikipedia, you cannot stop anyone from editing text you have written. As each edit page clearly states: Work submitted to Wikipedia can be edited, used, and redistributed—by anyone
"). The final page I'll point you to is about edit warring, for which I see a few (now deleted) warnings on your talk page. It's best to stick to the guidelines at WP:BRD: if your Bold edit is Reverted, then Discuss the changes, don't just try and force them back in. This is all very boring stuff, I'm afraid, but if you breach these basic rules of behaviour, then your Wikilife with be stressful and full of conflict. – SchroCat (talk) 10:45, 28 May 2018 (UTC)- The "Grace VanderWaal and Darci Lynne each received a golden buzzer and also came in first on AGT" sentence is unnecessary. The section is supposed to explain the use of the golden buzzer. -Hiwilms (talk) 10:57, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
- I agree with Hiwilms. That other winners received the golden buzzer adds little, and the cite to a college newspaper is weak. -- Ssilvers (talk) 13:00, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
- I agree that the information about VanderWaal and Lynne should NOT be included primarily because this article is about the thirteenth season not the twelfth or the eleventh. TheDoctorWho (talk) 20:21, 28 May 2018 (UTC)

- Bleucheeses, One more rather boring but very important guideline for you to read is WP:Canvassing. Asking people to 'help you out' when things are going against you (as you have done here and here is rather frowned upon. I looked at the Michael Jackson article, by the way, and again you seem to be ignoring BRD and just edt warring again. I suspect your Wiki career will not be long lasting unless you learn some of the key rules. - SchroCat (talk) 20:55, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
The new format for “Contestants who appeared on other seasons or shows”
[edit]Since the entire section is now in a chart instead of a bullet point list, should we change the other lists into charts as well? I think the articles will be more consistent that way. Thissecretperson (talk) 21:08, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
- I made the bold change this year because I was looking at last years article and it looked quite messy in that section. If anyone has any objection so this would be the place to make them. About changing the other articles I’d wait and see how it looks once the section grows and/or a consensus about the change is made here. TheDoctorWho (talk) 22:03, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
- I agree to your point. The sentence type of that section looked somehow messy, just like what happened on seasons 1 and 2 of Asia's Got Talent. If the format will be changed, all articles must be changed, too. -Hiwilms (talk) 03:43, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
Rowspans in ratings table
[edit]Does anyone else see anything wrong using rowspans in the ratings table where possible. Of course it's not possible if the box holds a reference but I believe where possible it simplifies the table and makes the table look neater. Any other thoughts? Pinging @Brianis19:. TheDoctorWho (talk) 05:03, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
Episode numbering
[edit]Please check America's Got Talent (season 12) for the episode numbering. Regular episodes are numbered continuously, while special episodes start at S1, and so on. -Hiwilms (talk) 03:46, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
- It does NOT matter what AGT season 12 says it matters what the SOURCES say. The sources list it as episode 6 meaning the numbering is wrong it either ALL needs to be put back into one table OR it needs to be numbered correctly. TheDoctorWho (talk) 03:51, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
- Also you should discuss BEFORE changing not change first and then discuss :) TheDoctorWho (talk) 03:53, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

In the top 36 acts section, which is meant to be alphabetized, Flau'jae's name is out of place and should be moved between Duo Transcend and Hans. Furthermore, the acts whose names start with "the" should be alphabetized by the second word, not "the". 71.115.153.78 (talk) 14:24, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

semifinals
[edit]in this wikia page it has 8 confirmed acts for week 2 along with the corresponding links showing it is confirmed
it is also confirmed Front Pictures is the wildcard for a second time, and is of right now LIKELY week 1
Aaron Crow and Brian King Joseph are almost certain in week 2 ( they were in QF 3 and were not announced as going to week 1 semifinals in the telecast ) and Glennis Grace is likely week 2 as Front Picture is likely last spot of week 1 but is not official YET.

ORIGINAL: table cell under [Semifinals > Week 1 > (Act) Shin Lim > Performance Description]
Close-up Magician; starts the act by placing a card in his back pocket. He then asks Heidi to pick a card and sign it. He puts the signed card down and when he does that smoke begins to rise and the card vanishes. He opens his mouth, where smoke comes out as well, and Heidi's card appears. He places her card in a plastic bag and then asks Tyra to pick a card and sign it. Tyra's card jumps from Shin's hand to the card that started in his back pocket. Tyra's card then shows up in his mouth and finally replacing Heidi's card in the plastic bag. He ends it by putting both cards back in the box and making the box disappear.

In the Finale section, please change the first names used in the descriptions to surnames. This is how it is done in other years, and elsewhere on the page. For example, replace "Bebe Rexha sang a duet with Glennis of her song "Meant to Be"." with "Bebe Rexha sang a duet with Grace of her song "Meant to Be"."
Also, the description of Shin Lim's act during the Finals is wrong. He did not use the piano to make cards disappear. Should be something like "Close-up Magician; played piano for a bit, and talked about how he used to play piano until carpal tunnel made him stop, then got Tyra to randomly select a card. He then made multiple copies of this card appear and disappear, and displayed the name of the card with floating playing cards". Here's a video of the performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5J-nhz4og0
Also, in the Finale section, Brian King Joseph and Lindsey Stirling performed "Roundtable Rival" and "The Force of Nature" JorWat (talk) 23:38, 22 September 2018 (UTC)
