According to the Dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy (www.rae.es) the word alguacil comes from the Arabic word وزير wazir which means 'minister' (amongst other things) in Arabic, not from QADI (which is the etymon of the word alcalde in Spanish). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leonkoro (talk • contribs) 23:58, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
