Subject not sufficiently notable for an entry
[edit]This is an adjunct (literally an adjunct in the department where he earned a PhD, no less) lecturer with no major accomplishments beyond getting his own non-academic, outside-his-expertise research retracted from websites. He's nothing more than a minor online figure seeking to establish himself as a credible voice outside his field of study. Doesn't meet the Notability policy [3]
- I disagree. He wrote a 400 page book about a timely topic, and international media like The Guardian find it notable enough to review it, saying, "Activists, journalists, and researchers who want to understand a surging far right, and how it borrows from the left, should start here." —Jason Wilson, columnist, The Guardian [1]
- Additionally, from Alexander Reid Ross' own "about me" page on his website: "I am an award-winning geographer taking a multi-disciplinary approach to understanding the world. My work includes scholarly research on resource management, journalistic investigations into transnational political networks, and professional reports on disinformation and the far right, spanning features in Fortune, CNN, and The Washington Post, as well as collaborations with Amnesty International, The New York Times Visual Investigations Team, and Forensic Architecture." For more thought
[edit]I don't understand this interaction yet. Keeping on talk until I sort it out:
Reid Ross was named in a list of individuals that Andy Ngo labelled covert "antifa ideologues" whom Ngo claimed were using the mantle of journalism.[3] In May 2019, Quillette published an article by Eoin Lenihan that alleged connections between antifa activists and national-level reporters who cover the far-right.[4] According to Shane Burley and Alexander Reid Ross, they and a number of other journalists received death threats after the claims were published.[5]

Nonfree book cover
[edit]Hi Hullaballoo Wolfowitz. You recently removed the book cover I uploaded for the section on on the book Against the Fascist Creep. I tried my best to read through the policy on this, and it looks like I may have misinterpreted. Mind pointing me to the relevant section so I better understand this for the future?
This book is notably enough on its own that it could be made into its own article if necessary. I simply felt like a sufficiently short article on this subject (the author) that the two might as well be combined.
Thanks! Jlevi (talk) 20:46, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- The general rule is that nonfree book covers may not be displayed in author bios, just as nonfree album covers may not be displayed in musician bios. There are very limited exceptions, typically if the author is also the cover artist. A nonfree cover ordinarily may be used as identification only in an article devoted to the work itself. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo). Treated like dirt by many administrators since 2006.
