I know that Mack used this system on their trucks but I always wondered what a truck driver would do if the air tank is empty. How could they start it?Isalmerbati 04:50, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

- Air starters used in commercial vehicles have a glad hand "jumper" connection next to the air tank. Another truck can pull up and use its emergency/supply line to jump the truck. Another method is to use a special hose and use the air pressure in the tires to fill the tank. After you start the engine you just fill the tires and go.
The Sukhoi Su-26M (powered by a radial engine) also has a pneumatic starter motor. I"m hinking that with these types of engines, pneumatic engines are mostly used as they're easier to built in. 91.182.162.165 (talk) 12:52, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
