Those interested in AFA, as I am, can go there for the information listed here. The article has become a blatant cut-and-pasted commercial for AFA, and if no one comes forth to edit it back to an encylopedia article, I will. --Reedmalloy (talk) 10:41, 17 November 2010 (UTC)— Preceding unsigned comment added by Reedmalloy (talkcontribs) [reply]

Yeah it was one of the worst articles I have seen on Wikipedia for blatant spam, but I have fixed it mostly. - Ahunt (talk) 21:45, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your effort on this. I came back to the article only to update one portion and was appalled. I understand the notability tag but ask for a little leeway here in gathering other source material.--Reedmalloy (talk) 10:41, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, I wasn't going to take it to AfD or anything, it just needs some third party refs to establish notability as per WP:N. The main problem with many large associations of longstanding is that there often aren't any refs that comply with WP:CORP. The standard requires multiple detailed profiles and in many cases, because the association is older than the journalists writing today everyone takes its existence for granted. No one is going to write a detailed profile on AFA these days, it has just been around too long. I bet you if you rigorously apply WP:CORP you would have a hard time showing most associations meet it. - Ahunt (talk) 14:48, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the criticism that the page as it currently stands is basically pro-AFA spam, and needs sources from outside the organization. For example, I would recommend including a discussion of the AFA's role in the cancellation of the Smithsonian's planned Enola Gay exhibit in 1995. Here's a possible source: Kohn, Richard H. "History and the Culture Wars: The Case of the Smithsonian Institution's Enola Gay Exhibition." The Journal of American History 82, no.3 (December 1995): 1036-1063. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.165.8.237 (talk) 16:49, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Adam - I see you have done a lot of work on this page and I appreciate it. I'm the chief communicator on the Association professional staff. The sidebar summary on the AFA page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_%26_Space_Forces_Association) indicates the Association was founded in Colorado Springs, Colo. That is not correct. The Association was established and incorporated in Washington, DC, in 1946, and was headquartered there until the association relocated to Arlington, VA in the 1980s. How can I help to make that change? TSQGN (talk) 16:30, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
