Ehmedê XanîAhmad Khani – per WP:COMMONNAME

He was an Ottoman Kurdish writer in 17th century. As long as I understand, Ehmedê Xanî is only modern Kurdish alternative name of Ahmad Khani (or Ahmad-i Khani). As you know, we don't chose Şîrkûh or Şêrko as the title of Shirkuh, we don't chose Selahedînê Eyûbî or Selahedîn as the title of Saladin.

You dont accept kurdish names on important kurdish peoplein the history but accept arabic, turkish ottoman, persian and english version of the names for some reason — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrkurdistan (talkcontribs) 23:51, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I personally accept Kurdish names, too. But I've understood Ehmedê Xanî is not common name in English books/article. Then I started to research about other alternative names. Takabeg (talk) 00:37, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see, thats why you have removed the part where it says tat he was very nationalistic and taht kurds should free them selfes from invaders. I dont care what everybody else think about the kurdish names . if Ehmede Xani is the kurdish pronounciation of the name so let it stay is it so bad? does it harm anybody? I think you editors in wikipedia try to remove everything important in kurdish history. You have already splitted zaza kurds from the other kurds with funny POV and nonsence sources. Idont understand why ottoman wikiproject is so interested in Ehmede Xani, when he was a nationalist kurd — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.191.154.94 (talk) 02:49, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You completely confuse this issue. Of course, I oppose any nationalism, but I didn't remove Kurdish alternative names. Some users such as A, B are trying to remove Kurdish alternative names. If reasonable cause is determined, they can be removed. But I think these two users didn't research on alternative names in English books/articles and simply remove or erase Kurdish names. Takabeg (talk) 02:57, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I witnessed removing Kurdish name again. In English sources, that name is used. But as long as I understand, there are many anti-Kurdish users (including IP users) from Turkey. Takabeg (talk) 04:03, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

ئەحمەدێ or ئەهمەدێ?

[edit]

Both are used in the article. I suppose the alphabet is more recent than the man himself, but maybe there is a correct way to write his (not so uncommon) first name today? 31.17.148.204 (talk) 09:16, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"ئەهمەدێ" would be more correct but both are not yielding much on Google, so perhaps we should only keep the Latin name. Semsûrî (talk) 10:17, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
