Queens category
[edit]Dimadick, if she was never queen, and Amalric was never even really king while still married to her, how is she a queen consort? She's just the woman married to the guy who is about to become king as long as he dumps her. Adam Bishop 17:23, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- Exactly; to call her 'Queen consort' is like calling Humphrey of Toron king. Silverwhistle 18:21, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- She has got back in again as queen consort in the infobox and succession box. My understanding is that she wasn't ever recognised as queen so the boxes are just stating the position "iure Vicipaedianorum": he must have succeeded on Baldwin's death, so we must have her as queen consort in our infoboxes. Is that right?
- In any case, granting this interpretation, there was no vacancy preceding her: Theodora was very much alive at Baldwin's death. I take it the statement of a vacancy survives in the succession box from a time when we didn't count Agnes and the vacancy lay between Theodora Komnene and Maria Komnene.
- So do we allow Agnes her queen consort infobox or not? Andrew Dalby 09:20, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
Extra child
[edit]I found another daughter, Alix, who died in childhood, mentioned in Nielen's ed. of the Lignages d'Outremer, so have added her to this article and Amalric's. Silverwhistle 22:27, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
