Name

[edit]
The spanish name isn't "A Coruña" but LA Coruña, basically because in spanish "a" is a preposition, not an article.
The error has been corrected.
Actually, A Coruña isn't wrong. It's just the original galician name. 10 years ago everyone called it La Coruña, but nowadays everyone refers to it as A Coruña (I'm talking about both people and the media here). So it's not wrong to call it A Coruña, although I realize that it may sound strange to anyone who isn't Spanish or living in Spain. I don't care one way or another (frankly, I prefer La Coruña, and I'm of Galician descent), but you may be in for an edit war with other people who do care if you try to change it. :) Cheers Raystorm 12:14, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Galician: A Coruña, Spanish: La Coruña, English: Corunna! Why is the Galician name being used for the EN.wikipedia.org article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.231.16.209 (talk) 19:20, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
When I travelled in Spain almost 30 years ago A Coruña was used. I've never heard it called or spelled Corunna. Most common names is what is typically used on Wikipedia.--MartinezMD (talk) 21:24, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Racing de Ferrol.gif

[edit]

Image:Racing de Ferrol.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:03, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Flag and coat of arms

[edit]

Where did they come from? The province hasn't any flag or coat of arms...--213.60.42.231 23:58, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

I have no dog in this fight, but this unsourced section looks to me to be grossly one-eyed. Statements like "love hate relationship" and "The City of Santiago de Compostela is not the provincial capital, but has always been the capital of Galicia and historically a rival to Toledo for being the most important city in Spain ecclesiastically speaking" are NOT encyclopaedic unless backed up by WP:RS sources. I agree with you. I also have no vested interest other than to make a good article. I have removed the sections to which you are referring. MartinezMD (talk) 02:20, 17 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
