Check it
[edit]Hi, could you check this article? I'm not native-speaker so I'm not sure if it's ok. THX Krzysztofpawliszak 22:51, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Winnertsktgkg.jpg
[edit]Image:Winnertsktgkg.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Removed sentence fragments
[edit]The plot synopsis is very badly written. The following sentence fragments and incomplete paragraph were removed from it.
- Inside of a café, two waiters (old and young) and the old man who is sitting outside on the terrace.
- Eventually the old man wants
- stupid people employ when talking to drunken people or foreigners. "No more tonight. Close now". The old man pays for the brandy and gives a tip to the waiter.

Careful with these interpretations
[edit]The interpretations are written like facts, but they are not. There is no hint in the story that the old man went deaf from WW1, we can only assume this. Maybe remove or rephrase the whole "Interpretation" part? 79.254.62.53 (talk) 21:04, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
Length of the "synopsis"
[edit]I copied the text of the story and the text of the synopsis into Microsoft Word and checked the word count: 1,420 versus 425. This "synopsis" is a full 30% as long as the short story it's supposed to be "summarizing", which isn't surprising given the level of detail it goes into. It should be cut down. - I've cut it down. The article needs work anyway. Victoria (tk) 20:27, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
Incorrect interpretation.
[edit]A line in the previous version asserted that the young waiter thought that the guard might pick up the old man. However, it is more reasonable to assume that this statement refers to the soldier who has just walked by with a girl. He is probably out after curfew, and MPs might nab him.
In my revision, I took the opportunity to remove some other relatively minor story elements (e.g., counting saucers and paying from a coin purse) while adding more about the last part of the story, which shifts to the point of view of the old waiter.---- Commasense (talk) 05:59, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
