Can you write a small history of the tournament's format from 1973 to present...kind of like what the SEC Baseball Tournament page has? Seancp 16:12, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- How does it look now? Jober14 19:08, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- It looks outstanding! I never knew all that about the ACC tournament so you've educated me! It sucks for Wikipedia purposes that they've had so many messed up formats. Seancp 19:26, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- Jober, just wanted to reiterate that you're doing a most excellent job on this and all the ACC Tourney pages! I just re-read this page and the history really helps to clear a lot of stuff up. Good work sir! Oughgh 20:17, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Duke in 1986?
[edit]Anyone have any idea why Duke didn't participate in the 1986 tournament? In both 1985 and 1987, all eight teams qualified for the tournament, but in 1986, 8th-place Duke was left out.
Also, in trying to put together the article for that tournament, does anyone have a seven-team double-elimination bracket handy? Kithira (talk) 20:15, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
- No idea on Duke being left out, but does this bracket work - {{ACCBaseball73-78}}? Billcasey905 (talk) 22:51, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
Seems like it would, I'll know for sure when I get around to making the article. Thanks.Kithira (talk) 23:32, 31 May 2012 (UTC)- Actually, since 1986 did not have a single-elimination play-in round, that template wouldn't work for that year. Kithira (talk) 05:13, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
The tournament was moved from mid-April to mid-May in 1986. School policy did not allow teams to participate after final exams (except for NCAA tournaments) which ended April 28 [1]. Splinter 9 (talk) 08:18, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
