lonesentry as source
[edit]The lonesentry (link) documents are authentic wartime documents, but from the wrong party of the war. The allies were often ill-informed about German equipment and tactics, and as a consequence their wartime documents about German weapons can only be considered a good source for their wartime opinion on them, not on the material itself. I propose to delete the lonesentry link (here andall others in Wikipedia) - or at least add a note of caution.07:49, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
- In principle I mostly agree, but in the case of this article the only citation to lonesentry is in regard to the actual operation and design of the weapon, things that have definitive and objective answers. We're not talking about the V-2 or Me 262, here. The Flak 41 was a fairly conventional weapon for its day and the information available to the Allies on it (captured documents, perhaps even captured specimens of the weapon) is generally reliable.--172.191.152.240 (talk) 03:00, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
Number built
[edit]The article states around 60 pieces were built, whereas Ian Hogg's book covering all WWII German artillery says around 200. --172.191.152.240 (talk) 02:47, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
- Per source cited. I don't have Hogg's :( --Felis domestica (talk) 10:12, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
