[edit]Sounds rather unlikely to me that the Persians should have conquered Corfu. After all, they were stopped at Salamis.--Proofreader 14:41, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
- Indeed, Corfu mentions that they provided 60 ships against the Persians, but otherwise took no active role. Seems that the Vandals have successfully invaded Wikipedia... Stan 01:36, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
Carthage in defense of Persia? Why?
[edit]This site states this;
"Xerxes encourages the Carthaginians to attack the Greeks in Sicily. Under the Carthaginian military leader, Hamilcar, Carthage sends across a large army.
The Greek city of Himera in Sicily, in its quarrel with Akragas, enlists Carthaginian support. With the help of Gelo, the tyrant of Syracusae, and Theron of Akragas, the Carthaginians are defeated in the Battle of Himera. After the defeat, Hamilcar kills himself."
Just for what advantage would Carthage support Persian attacks upon what is now considered as Greece?
I await a good response.
But if Carthage was nothing but a "Frankish" possession, and times were removed a NUMBER OF YEARS into our era, then it would make sense!! Ronald L. Hughes96.19.147.40 (talk) 03:20, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
