I created this article in part to honor the memory of all who served with the 43rd Indiana, especially my great-great-great Grandfather, Frank Guinnup (called "Francis Greenup" in the regimental records), who enlisted in the 43rd Indiana in February of 1864, serving in Co. D until he was wounded and captured at Mark's Mills.
