Overseas service of the two divisions

Hi. Was reading:

The 53rd (Welsh) Division provided officers and men, but little equipment, for the new 38th (Welsh) Division. The 2nd Line Welsh territorial division had not seen service overseas during the First World War, so that the 38th Division had a much more prestigious record.

Does the second sentence refer to the 53rd Division? The article on the 53rd said they were at Gallipoli and in the Middle East, which are definitely overseas. I think I will change this to 'had not seen service in France', as that seems to cover it. Stevebritgimp (talk) 01:08, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

It's Royal Welch Fusiliers, not Welsh.

Is there any reason why it's shown as Welsh not Welch for the RWF?

If not, can it be changed to Welch.

Have you read the lede section of Royal Welch Fusiliers? It explains the name change Welsh to Welch in 1920. So, for the 38th Division in WWI, the correct designation is Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Hamish59 (talk) 20:41, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
