End of war (in Italy)
[edit]From which source (evidence) do the assertions come from:
1. "The division was taken prisoner in May 1945 north of Lake Garda." 2. "Commanding Officers: Generalmajor Friedrich von Schellwitz (29 Dec 1944 - 8 May 1945)".
As is well known, von Schellwitz was already taken prisoner by the American 88th Infantry Division on 23 April 1945 still south of the River Po, together with the remnants of both the 305th and 62nd Inv.Div. which he both led this day. So who should have led the 305th Inv.Div. as a closed unit to the north of Lake Garda? And how could von Schellwitz still command until May 8, 1945, after he had already been in captivity since April 23, 1945? Monte Pelmo (talk) 08:47, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
