Question about list of names

[edit]

Is it really appropriate to include a nominal roll on this article? Whilst this information might be of interest to the public, it is not encyclopaedic and seems to me to be inappropriate on Wikipedia. Additionally, I feel it detracts from the article as it makes it overly long and cumbersome to read. That's only my opinion though. What does anyone else think? Comment about list of names

[edit]

Agree with AustralianRupert about the appropriateness of including nominal rolls, but I have further concerns. I don't know if this is the appropriate place to do this, but the nominal roll added to this article has been bulk cut and pasted from my website without any editing, and my copyright statement clearly states that the format of the material is my intellectual property, i.e., it is copyrighted! In addition, a quick review of the list will show that the overwhelming majority of the names listed do not even belong to this unit. The entire section should be removed. Done. The copyright violation by itself was grounds for removal, but the full listing was also not needed and, as you say, inaccurate. — jwillbur 15:20, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions

[edit]

I have just completed the B class checklist. The article is basically good in content, although it is not yet at a B class standard. Some suggestions for improvement:

  • infobox summarising information
  • in-line citations
  • removal of list of names (as per above) - I do not think that B class would be possible with this list

Some ideas. Hope this helps. AustralianRupert (talk) 07:33, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
