Rename

[edit]

This article needs to be renamed 2 July 2016 Baghdad Bombings, because two bombings were carried out, one in Karrada and one in Shaab. Yabti (talk) 16:19, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. Done. Midnightblueowl (talk) 17:00, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Previous attack articles do not contain date in title, though.--Bsumantb (talk) 17:11, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
What about 7 July 2005 London bombings? September 11 attacks? Using "July" without a date is fine for now, although we will have to re-add the date back in if there are any further attacks on Baghdad this month (although I for own hope that there won't be).

Requested move 5 July 2016

The result of the move request was: Moved. While there is significant opposition to the proposal, it did not address the fact that >90% of the article text is devoted to the Karrada bombing, thus the current title is inappropriate. The proposed alternative 2016 Baghdad bombing is obviously ambiguous (2016 Baghdad bombings currently redirects to List of terrorist incidents, 2016), and the yet third alternative July 2016 Baghdad bombing simply has not been put on the table. I'm also going to redirect the 2016 Baghdad bombing(s) to Baghdad bombing, a longish dab page. No such user (talk) 12:14, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

July 2016 Baghdad bombings2016 Karrada bombing – The title (as well as the first sentences) should be revised so it only refers to the Karrada bombing that killed 213+ people. The second bomb attack took place elsewhere in Baghdad and, with 5 deaths, is a common event that normally does not warrant an article on its own, as evidenced by the multiple other bomb attacks in Baghdad over the past few days. More importantly, the second attack does also not appear to have been directly linked to the Karrada attack. Referring to multiple bombings takes away from the severity of the Karrada attack. Furthermore, media outlets are now only referring to the Karrada bombing with no mention of the second one. Michael5046 (talk) 00:48, 5 July 2016 (UTC) --Relisting. Perpetrator in main bombing

[edit]

Are there any sources that state that the death toll includes the perpetrator? If not, should the "(+1)" be added? Beejsterb (talk) 02:39, 17 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
