Merge Desna Attack with this article
[edit]I suggest that Desna barracks airstrike be merged with this article. It is literally on the same region/topic. Muhafiz-e-Pakistan (talk) 17:06, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Neutral — I support the merge in terms of expansion because the Desna barracks airstrike article is a small stub, but I oppose the merge because the airstrike easily should pass notability requirements with 87 killed in a single event. If anyone is willing to attempt to expand the airstrike article, preferably to start class, then consider this an oppose, otherwise, consider this a support. Elijahandskip (talk) 17:24, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Support - Desna article is too small, even if its notable.SnoopyBird (talk) 23:22, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

this does not mean a merge is necessary. I think the article has potential. As Elijahandskip said, 87 people died at once, this is most likely notable. Super Ψ Dro 12:38, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
- Closing, given the uncontested objection and stale discussion. Klbrain (talk) 11:45, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
Ongoing?
[edit]The last event in this seems to have been in mid-2022. What exactly is the guideline for when we stop declaring it to be "ongoing" and just mark the end date as 29 July? I'm not sure where I would find this. HappyWith (talk) 16:36, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
Mention January Reconnaissance
[edit]In January, Russia attacked Sumy Oblast in the direction of Sumy before defeat. This should be mentioned within the article. 213.57.142.238 (talk) 19:35, 29 January 2023 (UTC)

2022 northeastern Ukraine–Russia border skirmishes → 2022 northern Ukraine–Russia border shelling – The subject of this article is not "skirmishes", it's largely one-sided Russian shelling of northern Ukraine. Chernihiv Oblast and Sumy Oblast are not in the northeast, they're in the far north. HappyWith (talk) 06:07, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose I remember reading news several times about Russian troops having crossed the border or attempted to do so to enter Ukrainian territory through Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts. Though honestly the article is not really necessary. Super Dromaeosaurus (talk) 09:38, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose I dont believe that this event warrants the requested move as it is part of a larger event. I don't beleive that the move requested will help readers of the article or by not moving the article it will cause confusion. For these reasons, I oppose the move. Jurisdicta (talk) 12:38, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- I considered a merge too - though I’m not sure what target would be good. Maybe the "Aftermath" section of Northern Ukraine campaign? Idk. HappyWith (talk) 03:06, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think that'd be good. As long as it is mentioned that Russia shelled Ukrainian border villages and attempted a few crossings it should be okay. Super Dromaeosaurus (talk) 08:54, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
