Lack of citations
[edit]There is a real lack of citations in this article as it is currently. For example: where is the data for the previous make-up of the councils, the numbers of incumbents reelected, and the political leanings of mayoral candidates coming from?
Further, is all this information necessarily useful for this page when stuff like the number of incumbents returned hasn't even been filled out for the majority of community boards and licensing trusts?
This information should be properly referenced, and some stuff should probably be trimmed as not particularly notable.-161.29.216.215 (talk) 06:55, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- Kia ora, the article is currently in a state of flux since I've been working on it the past week, keen to hear any of your thoughts on it.
- I've just removed those old tables I haven't got around to changing yet, incumbents re-elected I'm just removing as info.
- I was gonna add citations for all the previous make up of council at the previous 2019 election article (i'll get around to at some point) but if you think that's not adequate, I can add it to the source column.
- On the mayoral political leanings, there was reporting of the 2022 mayoral elections as being a win for the right so I think it's useful info. I can add citations for that info as well.
- Feel free to change anything yourself if you think it would be an improvement. I'd like to get this article in a good state by the time of the 2025 local elections, and then it'd be kind of a guide for previous and subsequent local election articles.

- If you're going to add citations then that's good. I can see you've already started to add some, which is an improvement. -161.29.216.215 (talk) 00:19, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
