I read the report from WorldCurling.org multiple times (https://worldcurling.org/2021/05/wmdcc2021-preview/), and I am still a little confused how the 7th and 8th place teams will be determined in the Play-offs if only the top 3 from each group make the play-offs. I don't see anything on that page that would indicate an 8 team playoff. My understanding is that it is a 6 team playoff, the top 3 from each pool with the top team from each getting a bye to the semifinals. Then at the bottom you have the 10th placed team in each group getting relegated to the qualification event next year, and the next 2 lowest teams (8th and 9th in the pool) have to play the teams from the other pool with the losers getting relegated as well. A202985 Thanks for trying to explain it, what I was and am confused about about isn't the 7th or 8th place of each group but rather the 7th or 8th place overall as the top 7 team qualify for the olympics and the 8th place only gets in if China is already in the top 7 teams. I added a something to the key about "Teams to Olympic Qualification Round" and if it turns out to be an unnecessary distinction it can be removed. Edwyth (talk) 23:17, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
