{{edit semi-protected}} Please change Untitled by Owl City to All Things Bright & Beautiful by Owl City because according to The Rolling Stone November 15 issue, Owl City announced it to be the title of his coming studio album. 202.42.101.194 (talk) 12:11, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated unreleased albums

[edit]

Is there a reason to keep all of the unreleased albums that didn't come to fruition in the article? Now that 2011 is over, I think it's safe to assume they don't apply to this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.65.226.45 (talk) 02:32, 18 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Although I expect that this is not a new question, and that there is already consensus somewhere on the question... It seems to me that a majority of these items should have never been on the list to begin with. The languange 'are expected to happen' in the lede creates a problem. Per WP:CRYSTAL: "1.Individual scheduled or expected future events should only be included if the event is notable and almost certain to take place." and "Speculation and rumor, even from reliable sources, are not appropriate encyclopedic content." (emphasis is mine). Having said that, hopefully we can avoid the problem this year. Since the items are here now, it is possible that many of them HAVE been released and just not updated. I think they should be left and individually verified (removing as one verifies). I don't want the job though! --Tgeairn (talk) 02:43, 18 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I clicked on all of the albums that have links and the ones that aren't "Untitled" without links, and none of them were released. I doubt any of the untitled ones were released, since one would assume that whoever added them would also take the time to update it once they were named and released. Does anyone think it's necessary to check each and every album? I'll do it if it's absolutely necessary. If not, they shouldn't be there. 109.65.226.45 (talk) 02:53, 18 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It sounds to me like you have done your diligence here. I say to go ahead and remove them - BUT, I think you should wait to see if any other editors have any input before doing so (say 24 hours or so as a minimum - which means 48 given our unique upcoming time gap). --02:57, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
I removed them before I checked back here and saw your message. I checked a few more and they came up negative, so I'll just go through a few more of the major ones. Phildogg82 (talk) 03:09, 18 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This needs serious editing, but I can't find the right figures to plug in.
