Article name
[edit]The article name is still wrong. It should be "Football League Championship" not "Football League". Also, I'm wondering if playoff should be hyphenated or not (it currently isn't). Both soccerbase and the front of the match programme use the hyphen, but I think the correct English spelling should prevail, whatever it may be. --Jameboy (talk) 13:43, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Page move
[edit]I've moved the page per this consensus. (addition of hyphen) --Jameboy (talk) 11:58, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

I'll take a look at this shortly. Harrias talk 07:09, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
References
[edit]- Ref #11, "Derby–West Brom at it happened" should credit Charlie Henderson as the author.
- Refs #12 and #13 from 11v11.com need access dates.
- Ref #17, "Facts and Figures", gives a publication date of 4 June 2009, but the only date I can see in the article is in 2007 (because the archive date was 25 December 2007, presumably).
- Ref #20, "Wembley blast back in play-off ticket farce" isn't working for me.
- Added archive. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 08:32, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- Nor is ref #21, "Play-off final ticket info".
- Added archive. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 08:32, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- Ref #24, "Castles, Duncan (27 May 2007)" just goes to the Times homepage for me.
- Same with ref #25, "Kempson, Russell (29 May 2007)".
- but is now here by the looks of it. Harrias talk 08:29, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- Cheers, replaced existing URL with that one. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 08:38, 1 July 2020 (UTC)

- Where are the match rules and player's shirt numbers referenced?
- Rules aren't, that's practically impossible to find, but it's kind of sky is blue territory. I've removed them for now. Squad numbers ref'd by the ESPN link. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 08:32, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- "Football League Championship final table" needs a reference.
Images
[edit]- Are all appropriately licensed, and include alt text. (No work required).
- Bonus balls. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 08:40, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- I think the two of Poll and Pearson needs personality rights warnings.
Prose
[edit]- "..with the first leg being.." Noun plus -ing.
- "..made a number of saves.." "a number of" could be better replaced by "several".
- "..with Albion progressing.." Noun plus -ing.
- "top marksman" probably isn't encyclopaedic language, as nice as the variety is.
- Suggestions please, without repetition. I'd take the risk on the language over repetition. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 08:43, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- I've been learning from FAC; I'm all about giving problems with no solutions. If this is all that is left, then I'm not that fussed, though I would make more of a fuss at a potential future FAC. Harrias talk 09:14, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- Sure thing, we'll have a think then. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 09:29, 1 July 2020 (UTC)

- "..at the original Wembley Stadium.." No link to the old Wembley here?
- Linked already. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 08:52, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- Not sure how I missed that. Harrias talk 09:14, 1 July 2020 (UTC)

- "Football League chairman Brian Mawhinney.." False title.
- "..with Paul Peschisolido replacing.." Noun plus -ing.
- "..to former Conservative Member of Parliament and Football League chairman Brian Mawhinney.." It is odd to introduce him for a second time, especially doing so slightly differently.
- "..in front of a Wembley crowd of 74,993.." No need to repeat the attendance.
- "..and within the first minute, Kamara's shot across goal was saved by Stephen Bywater.." A brief explanation of who the shot was for would held here; as Derby kicked off, I had assumed it was them, until I remembered that Bywater was their keeper.
- Addressed. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 08:52, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- It doesn't seem changed to me? Oh, I see now, you made a change in the second half section to clarify this, but I had meant the start of the first half. Harrias talk 09:14, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- Gah, addressed. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 09:29, 1 July 2020 (UTC)

- "..were ignored by the referee Webb." Poll presumably needed the toilet?
- Addressed. Weird. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 08:52, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- "..but struck he shot wide." Grammar.
- "..whose strike grazes the woodwork." Fix the tense.
- Keyboard. Addressed. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 08:52, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- "..with Bywater making.." Noun plus -ing.
- "..Barnes picked the ball up.." I wonder if this would confuse a layperson, who might think he literally picked the ball up with his hands? Maybe I'm not giving them enough credit..
- Can we provide a link or explanation for "square ball"?
- "..then Derby's Fagan was substituted by Marc Edworthy." Doesn't sound quite right to me, normally when we say someone was substituted by someone else, we mean by the manager.
- For, not by. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 08:52, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
That's it from me. Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/2010 Twenty20 Cup Final/archive1 is feeling a bit lonely if you fancy having a look. Harrias talk 08:06, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- Harrias cheers, all done bar marksman, thanks. I'll add your FAC to my list even if it does make me a fanboy/groupie/etc etc. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 08:52, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
