Lead
On 63 minutes, Cheltenham took the lead after Steve Guinan shot past several defenders
— Depending on your answer to the question below (second comment re: "Post-match"), maybe "On 63 minutes, Cheltenham took the lead after Steve Guinan shot past several defenders; he later said that he was only trying to [insert]" or something similar.- See below. All he said was he wasn't trying to score but nothing more on that. My hypothesis stands, he tried to smash it into the box which was full of people, hoping to find a teammate or a deflection. Route to the final
Grimsby had been denied automatic promotion in the last minute of the regular season when they conceded a last-minute equaliser to Northampton Town while Leyton Orient scored a later winner at Oxford United.
— Did these two goals, despite being in separate matches, actually occur in the same minute of each other? How many points is a win worth? A tie? And did you mean to say "late winner"?- Reworded a bit. A win is worth 3 points, a draw is worth 1. "Late winner"? I would say so. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:27, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- Makes sense. Re: "late winner", I meant that it was worded "later winner". Fixed in text. --Usernameunique (talk) 04:38, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

a close-range volley from Wycombe's Tommy Mooney made the final score 2–1
— Minute? Two further Lincoln goals were disallowed
— When/why?- Added why, when not available. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:27, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
both sides struck the goal frames, Paul Bolland for Grimsby and Scott Kerr for Lincoln
— When?- Not available in the source. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:27, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
a Woodhouse free kick
— Where was the kick taken from?- It doesn't say. It's not really important though. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:27, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
Background
They had played in the third tier of English football since being relegated in the 2003–04 season.
— Weren't they in the fourth tier?- No, they were in the third tier until they were relegated to the fourth tier. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:32, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- If you're saying (as I think you are) that the 2003–04 season resulted in Grimsby being relegated from the third tier to the fourth tier, then the word "since" is incorrect, and should be replaced with something like "until". Alternatively, you could say that "They had played in the fourth tier of English football since being relegated..." --Usernameunique (talk) 04:46, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, just a typo, fourth tier it is. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 09:13, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

Cheltenham had played in fourth-tier play-off finals once before
— Any other playoffs in different tiers?Cheltenham had played in League Two since being relegated in the 2003–04 season.
— The above link to "2003–04 season" says that Cheltenham finished middle of the pack that season, avoiding relegation.- Fixed season, just a simple typo. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:32, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- Anything to link the corrected season to? --Usernameunique (talk) 04:47, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

a successful appeal overturned the red card he received in the second leg of the semi-final
— Sounds like the red card should be mentioned in "Route to the final". And what was the basis for the appeal?- Linked, it wasn't linked before because it was pointing at an article already linked! The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 09:13, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- Added, no info on why, and no info on appeal. One assumes (like with all such appeals) the club felt the sending off was unjustified. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:35, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
Cheltenham made one change
— From their semifinal lineup?
Summary
Four minutes later Jones headed the ball wide of the Cheltenham goal before Wilson struck a shot wide.
— Were these attempts part of the same sequence, or some time apart?- Two minutes apart, but the prose was already getting heavily loaded with "minutes". The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:45, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
Higgs then saved a diving header from Jones
— Minute?Woodhouse asked for a penalty after being brought down by Bell
— Where was he brought down?- Inside the penalty area otherwise he wouldn't have looked for a penalty. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:45, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
Details
Paul Taylor (Hertfordshire)
— Hertfordshire isn't mentioned anywhere else; it should probably go in the infobox and "Background"
Post-match
it was a stonewall penalty
— What's a stonewall penalty?- Like "beyond debate". It's a quote though, so he could have meant anything. But that's what I reckon. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 22:08, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
he had not meant to score
— What did he mean to do, then?- Probably (imagining what he was thinking) going for a "ball into the area" hoping a colleague would finish it. Turns out (per the description) it beat several defenders for a goal. But of course it's a quote so it's hard to say what his precise motivation was upon striking that ball... References
- Foster should probably go in a "Bibliography" section, with an sfn footnote for #8
- #13 — Publisher (The Guardian) missing.
- Suggest running internetarchivebot on the page, since a number of the references seem to be missing archived backups. I'd run it myself, but the page isn't loading at the moment for some reason.
- I use that and it's running without adding anything right now, so I'm getting the same results as you. It's a bummer. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 22:01, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
