Removal of categories
[edit]I have removed this article from Category:2006 in London and Category:Events at Wembley Stadium for the simple reason this match was not played at Wembley or even in London. The new Wembley Stadium was not opened until the following year and this match was played at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Dunarc (talk) 21:36, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

- ... that Swansea City made two appearances at the Millennium Stadium in 2006, winning the Football League Trophy but losing the Football League One play-off Final?
5x expanded by The Rambling Man (talk). Self-nominated at 21:03, 18 February 2021 (UTC).
- - article is very well sourced and well written. I assume it is standard practise for football matches to not include inline citations in the Details subsection since it rehashes information from the summary. Ref 7 verifies the earlier matchup. QPQ is good. Expanded AND a Good article as of this morning (wish Transport GANs went that fast)! - Floydian τ ¢ 15:32, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

Infobox
- "Lee Mason (Lancashire)" — Unless I'm missing it, that Lancashire link isn't explained anywhere in the article
- No, the BBC source doesn't explain it either. It's just there. It means that's the specific association with which he's affiliated but as the sources don't say that, I can't say much more about it. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:17, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
Lead
- Up to you, but the final two sentences of the second paragraph might read more clearly if, instead of going in the order of the shots, you just say that Barnsley made all four of their shots and Swansea City made only three of five.
- I prefer to maintain the chronology. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:17, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
Route to the final
- What about a concluding sentence to the first paragraph, along the lines of "The third through sixth teams thus matched off in a two-round tournament to determine the third team that would advance to the Football League Championship"?
- Well it's linked to play-offs and it's not really a "tournament", just two semi-finals and a final. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:18, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- "at the Liberty Stadium" or just "at Liberty Stadium"?]
- at "the" is correct. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:18, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
when he converted a loose ball
— This isn't much detail; it says how he got the ball, not how he scored.- There's not much detail in the source. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:27, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- Any more details on the red-card foul? And was there a penalty kick as a result?
- No more detail and no penalty (presumably the foul took place outside the penalty area). The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:27, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
Martin Devaney's shot skimmed the Barnsley crossbar and Danny Schofield hit the post for Huddersfield.
— When?- The source doesn't have information on the times of missed chances. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:27, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- "at the Galpharm Stadium" or "at Galpharm Stadium"? There are a number of other of these, but I'll stop mentioning them.
- It's fine in BritEng. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:27, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
Summary
Knight struck the Barnsley post with a shot but he had been deemed offside
— So he both missed and was offside?both Howard and Bobby Hassell were shown the yellow card
— Why?- It doesn't say why Howard was booked, just that he was, and Hassell was booked for a push, but it seems anomalous to say why one player was while not saying why the other player was. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:27, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
Ritchie was sacked in November 2006
— At what point in the season was that?- Three months (or so) in. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:27, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

- How odd. That's just using the tool provided by Wikimedia so perhaps raise a bug report with them? I'll remove the archive info from that for now. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:15, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- #13, 16 — Retrieval dates aren't needed for printed matter
- Those are online URLs so accessdates don't do any harm. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:15, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- It's not a big deal, but what you're really citing is the newspaper—the online source is just the conduit through which you can view the paper—and the paper is not going to change no matter what date you access it. --Usernameunique (talk) 08:39, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- Understood but I don't see the harm in using accessdates for online versions of paper references. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:59, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

Overall
- The Rambling Man, lots of major issues identified above. Think you're going to have to go WP:TNT on this one. --Usernameunique (talk) 08:05, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- Usernameunique thanks for the comments. I'm not sure you started the review properly as this isn't transcluded onto the talk page. Also the 2010 Football League One play-off Final GA review comments have been addressed but I don't think you put the review
on hold
. I'll look at the comments here soon. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:13, 5 March 2021 (UTC)- The Rambling Man, I think a bot normally handles the transclusion—since I only opened the review a couple minutes ago, it probably hasn't run yet. I'm working on the 2010 one right now. --Usernameunique (talk) 08:16, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- Usernameunique You haven't put a "status" on either review as far as I can tell so the bots won't do anything at all at this point. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:21, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- Usernameunique cheers, I've addressed and/or responded to all the comments above. Thanks for the review! The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 08:27, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- The Rambling Man, my pleasure, again. The article looks good; I'll be passing it momentarily, once Legobot runs through again to process the "on hold". One minor comment above. --Usernameunique (talk) 08:39, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
