1996 Belgian Masters → 1995 Belgian Masters – The Cuesport book does not give a date for this tournament. Snooker Scene, which is published monthly, mentions in its January 1996 issue that that "Matthew Stevens... captured a second professional title only four weeks after his first... his Benson and Hedges triumph at Edinburgh in November." He won the B&H title, agaisnt Paul McPhillips, on 14 November (as can be seen from multiple sources at newspapers.com), which means that his Belgian Masters win would have been in December 1995. - Support. The 29 January 1996 edition of the South Wales Echo has the following: "Stevens, winner of the Benson & Hedges Championship in November and the Belgian Masters a month later...". This also supports a December 1995 date. Andygray110 (talk) 23:19, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
- Comment: This event was part of the 1995–96 snooker season, so how about calling it the 1995–96 Belgian Masters, so it won't be necessary to worry about which year the date fell into? — BarrelProof (talk) 05:26, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support per multiple sources. We don't need to do "1995–96 Belgian Masters" (just due to doubt) if the sources already tell us it was in '95 and have removed the doubt. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 00:54, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
