- I found my source from the Illinois Central diesel locomotive roster. It said 4031 was the last of EMD order number 2042, an order of E7A’s by the IC, ranging from 4026-4031. 4031’s serial number is 2042-A6. Nick Gurr 7777 | TALK / CONTRIBS | 14:21, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
- Interesting. It seems unlikely that the NTSB would get the model of locomotive wrong in their official report. Mackensen (talk) 16:41, 8 September 2019 (UTC)
