@Jeff.jay.dahlin: Thanks for your enthusiasm in adding content to Wikipedia's coverage of Washington Huskies football. I do, however have a concern with the game summaries you added to this article, which are taken directly from the UW yearbook for 1925. While the yearbook is public domain and attribution is given, the summaries are written in very flowery, boosterish language. E.g., "machine-like precision", "scintillating", "dazzling", "out-played but not out-fought", "the Husky lair", "no match for the Husky juggernauts", "yodeled signals", "a stocky little fellow by the good old Irish name of Kelly completely stole the show," "crash, down went the Huskies to a heart-breaking defeat", etc. While it is ok to sprinkle occasional quotes of this sort into the summaries, it is unencyclopedic to use these descriptions in their entirety as the encyclopedia's full description of the games. Please tke a look at our core content policy on neutrality (WP:NPOV) and take a shot at modifying the summaries to make them more neutral and encyclopedic. See, e.g., 1925 Michigan Wolverines football team#Season summary. Cbl62, I agree entirely. Working in yearbook quotes are fine, but the main structure of the section should be written in neutral wiki-voice. Jweiss11 (talk) 15:13, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have written a new summary for the first game. Doing this forced me to get better information from other sources.
If you want, you can check out the changes in my sandbox (User:Jeff.jay.dahlin/sandbox) before I release it to the wiki. I will wait a few days for any comments before I post it. The first footnote in the sandbox is a named reference to the 1925 Tyee yearbook which has the declaration(?) in the released page, so in the sandbox it is broken.
In the mean time, I will work on USS Maryland in my sandbox since it uses the same newspaper articles.
