The game therefore became the first top tier match in English football to be played in Wales - therefore is a bit weird to me. Just because there wasn't Welsh clubs, doesn't mean it wasn't possible for matches to have been held in Wales previously. I think its reasonable to assume that as the first Welsh club to reach that level, the match would consequently be the first to be held in Wales.
