Ah1270 (talk) 19:29, 1 May 2015 (UTC) Regarding Spanish silver mines in the New World opening this year... silver mines have been open for some time already... specifically in Potosí in Peru (modern day Bolivia) in 1545. Perhaps they are referring to the quadrupling of output from the Potosí mine this year when they use mercury from a different mine to process the silver. I'm going to change the page to reflect that fact.
