Needs to be renamed

[edit]

"Lacis" is the wrong transliteration. The proper spelling is Latsis. "Lācis" is a completely different surname. Latsis is also the spelling used in the Russian English-language press. I'll be moving.  PЄTЄRS VЄСRUМВАtalk  16:10, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

About born and raised

[edit]

The point was that Latsis was "Latvian" in surname only. Either "born and raised in the USSR" needs to be added, or "of Latvian descent" gets moved to the body. He's not a "Latvian" journalist, no more than Viktors Alksnis is a "Latvian" politician. (I would not, however, equate their personal or political philosophies!)  PЄTЄRS VЄСRUМВАtalk  18:14, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Peters, are you living in the US? So, are you trying to convince us that you are yankee who is Latvian only in surname? Have a look in Logic textbook. Anyway, your "Latsis nationality" original research is not sourced. He was and is treated as a Latvian and Soviet. I just recall Estonian singer Anne Veski who is named Estonian pop singer and also categorized in this Wikipedia as both Soviet and Estonian. Vlad fedorov (talk) 08:12, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
