Bindiya and Payal often clash due to their different ideologies. Bindiya is honest and hardworking, while Payal wants to be rich at any cost. As they grow up, the differences between them also grow. As grown ups, Bindiya remains in her village while Payal is a college student. Payal is in a relationship with Krish. But Krish's father, Baldev, is looking to get Krish married to someone homely and traditional. Bindiya saves Baldev's life, so Baldev decides she will be his daughter-in-law. Krish and Bindiya's wedding is fixed and they get married. Krish is still in love with Payal, but Bindiya is unaware of their relationship and has fallen in love with Krish.
Eventually, Payal succeeds in becoming Krish's illegal wife. After several evil shenanigans of Payal, Bindiya ends up exposing her in front of the whole family and Krish. Payal ends up leaving after seeing Krish's anger, but she comes back to the Shukla family by pretending to commit suicide. Krish ends up forgiving Payal and accepts her love. Bindiya goes back to her village and ends up meeting a businessman, Samay, who happens to be Krish's cousin. Krish begins to feel jealous due to their growing closeness and realizes his love for Bindiya. However, Bindiya and Samay's wedding is fixed. Krish finally accepts his feelings for Bindiya and they are married again. Then they go to honeymoon. But suddenly Krish pushes Bindiya down from a cliff. Later, it is revealed that it was Vikram who wore Krish's face mask and pushes her down from a cliff that was planned by Payal. However, she is survived by a little girl named Gauri. She comes back with her as a maid. On the other hand, Krish and Payal's marriage is fixed. However, she comes to know that the maid is none other than Bindiya. This time, she burries Bindiya alive with the help of Vikram's wife Sakshi and tells her to make a fake complain of domestic violence against Shukla family wearing Bindiya's face mask. But Bindiya comes to know about that and reveals the truth intention of Payal in front of everyone. Then they decide to imprison Payal which makes Payal angry. She attempts to kill Bindiya but gets injured by falling on glass. However, she gets well and join hands with Mrs Pandey and her two children Birju and Babli. She helped them to kidnap Krish which makes Indu angry. She throws Bindiya out of the house. Then Birju takes him to his house and shows the video of torturing Krish. He threatened her to marry him. However, Bindiya and Krish replaces another guys and escape. Later, they told to everybody that it was Payal's trap. However, Bindiya is revealed to be pregnant with Krish's child. Payal tries to kill the child by mixing abortion medicines in her milk which makes Bindiya's pregnancy complicated. However, Bindiya finds out the truth and tells everyone. Hearing this, Krish becomes angry and throws Payal out of the house by breaking all relationship. Meanwhile, Bindiya helps Nidhi deliver her baby boy, Shlok, and decides to keep her pregnancy. The Shukla family accept her decision and after nine months, she gives birth to her daughter, Swara. Two days later, Bindiya and Krish die in a blast while visiting the temple Swara, Baldev and his mother. Indu blames Swara for their death and labels her as an inauspicious child.
Now grown up Swara, a dancer, is turned out to be mute so she expresses her words through Dhwani, who is her interpreter and childhood best-friend. Dhwani is ambitious and selfish. She dreams of becoming rich and does not want to live like her mom, Sudha a maid who is also Swara's nanny. Vedant falls in love with Dhwani but she rebuffs him as she believes him to be poor. Swara falls in love with Vedaant and is led to believe by Dhwani that Vedaant reciprocates her feelings. Rudra, Vedant's father, is impressed by Swara and wants her to be his daughter-in-law. Rudra and Baldev fix Shlok's marriage with his girlfriend Naina who also happens to be Vedant's cousin sister. Alongside, Vedant's marriage is fixed with Swara.
However, after finding out Vedant is rich, Dhwani successfully manipulates Vedaant into breaking off his relationship with Swara. However, Koel, Vedaant's stepmother, gives Dhwani money to leave Vedaant, as she wants a daughter-in-law that will do all her bidding. Heartbroken by this, Vedaant decides to marry Swara and accept her with all his heart. Prabha, who is Swara's dance teacher, is revealed to be Vedant's mother who was thrown out of her house due to her sister Koel's evil ploys. Koel, fearing that Swara could be a threat for her due to her connection with Prabha, decides to get rid of Swara. However, her plan fails and Swara - Vedant and Shlok - Naina get married.
Koel joins hands with Dhwani to oust Swara from the house. They become successful in their plan as Vedant once again falls for Dhwani's manipulation and accepts his love for her in front of everyone. However, Rudra's mother comes to know about it for which Koel pushes her from stair. Koel is soon exposed in front of the family. She tries to escape but dies because of the attack of thundering of rain. They reunite as a family. Rudra wears vermilion in Prabha's head.
