"Prices" is a song by American rapper Lil Uzi Vert. It was released on March 6, 2020, as the twelve track off of their album Eternal Atake. The track peaked at number twenty-five on the Billboard Hot 100, The song samples "Way Back", by Travis Scott; and an interpolation of "Hickory Dickory Dock".[1]

Background

The song was first recored back in 2018, [2] and would later be heard On March 3, 2020, when Lil Uzi released a 2-minute long short film titled "Baby Pluto" teasing the album's release and would feature the instrumental,[3] It was directed by Gibson Hazard and Lil Uzi Vert respectively.[3] later that day Brandon Finessin would play the song ON Instagram Live.[4]

Critical reception

Dylan Green of DJBooth had a postive reaction to the song, saying that "More choirs but with booming drums behind them. This is a nice groove. Uzi found the pocket early. He picks the perfect repeatable phrases. He’s skipping. “Gotta model / with vitalogi / she got a condo / out in Cabo” hahahahaha wow. The rhyme scheme was nuts. There’s so much going on here. “Hickory dickory dock / VVS all in my clock.” He went there!! I like this song. The energy from the beginning is back".[5]

The track debuted at number twenty-five on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the seven highest's charting song from the album .[6]
