WikiProject Sports and WikiProject Games are the two main projects devoted to the creation, maintenance and improvement of sports and games articles.
WikiProject Sports was created on September 26, 2001 and WikiProject Games was created on December 19, 2003. Both projects and their children have thousands of active users working daily on all areas of Wikipedia and have collectively created, edited, reviewed and promoted over 1000 items of Featured content.
Owing to the popularity of both subjects, multiple sub-projects and taskforces have been created to focus more narrowly on certain areas. Assessment departments are spread between all and some have their own Manuals of Style to help new editors write better articles.
Anyone can participate in writing, editing or discussing articles and anyone can join the family of projects if they are interested.
