At Revelation 22:9 after having received a profound revelation of things to "shortly take place", and receiving it in "signs" (as stated at the very beginning of the book of Revelation), the apostle John fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had shown him these things. Revelation 22:9 says: But he tells me: "Be careful! Do not do that! All I am is a fellow slave of you and your brothers who are prophets and of those who are observing the words of this scroll. Worship God."
The Bible only reveals the names of two of the myriads or spiritual creatures in heaven who have continued to serve God faithfully, Michael and Gabriel. Throughout the Bible it is emphasized that worship is to be directed only to God himself and not to any other creature heavenly or otherwise. True Christians have always been directed, (as in the scripture at Revelation 22:9), even by angels, to direct their worship only to God. Other scriptures to refer to are Luke 1:26; Revelation 12:7, and Matthew 4:8-10.
