Phalodi District is one of the six districts in the Jodhpur division of the Rajasthan state of India. This district is known for its salt industry,[3] and it is one of the hottest places in India.[4] The city of Phalodi is the administrative headquarters of the district.
History
[edit]Phalodi District was established on 7 August 2023.[5] The area was formerly part of Jodhpur District.
Early history
[edit]The Phalodi area was captured by Udai Singh of Marwar in 1562. He lost it in 1574, when Akbar granted it to Bhakharsi, son of Rawal Harraj.[6]
