Sydney John Peter Booth, Baron Booth[1] is a British businessman and politician. He was born in Houghton-le-Spring in the northeast of England, and lived there until attending the University of Essex where he took a bachelor's degree in government.[citation needed] He served as the Chairman of the National Conservative Convention from 2021 to September 2024, and was Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party Board, and Chairman of the Conservative Party Finance and Audit Committee. Booth was nominated by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for a life peerage[2][3] and was created Baron Booth, of Houghton-le-Spring in the City of Sunderland, on 7 March 2024.[4][1]
