The characters of Parizaad are based on Hashim Nadeem's eponymous novel. The majority of the characters are derived from the novel.

Parizaad is the protagonist of the novel and TV series. He is a dark skinned guy for which he is always mocked. Despite the bullying that he faces in his poverty stricken days, he remains positive and a thoughtful person.[1] He expresses his emotions in the form of poetry.[2] He becomes wealthy after his master's suicide, and changes his name to PZ Mir.[3]

Saeeda

The character was not in the novel, and was introduced in TV series only.

Saeeda aka Saeeda Aapi, as called by Parizaad, is the elder sister of him. Saeeda is the only supporting force in his house who stands by him in every thick and thin. She listens to his worries and consoles him. Before Parizaad's journey away from his house, Saeeda is married off to Saleem.[4][5]

Naheed

She is a beautiful college going girl. Parizzad is her tutor and has a crush on her. While knowing the truth, she stays quiet when Parizzad gets blamed and insulted by many people, resultantly he loses his credibility in the mohalla. She then marries Majid, the man whom she loves.[4][5]

After some times, when Parizaad gets rich she tries to wedge into his life and ignores her now unemployed husband.[5]

Ahmad Nassaz

Generally referred as Nasaaz, Ahmad Nasaaz is a college student who fails every year and becomes a friend of Parizaad when he saves the latter from committing the suicide. Nasaaz explores his passion of poetry.[2] He influences Parizaad to be confident and teaches him to use his words as a second introduction.[6]

Saima/ Bubbly Badmash/ Dilawar

The character was not a part of the novel and was created for the television adaptation.[7]

Born as Saima, she is commonly referred by her nickname Bubbly Badmash. Her tomboyish nature is due to the upbringing of her parents that they have done like a boy, for which they wished for.[7][5] She becomes a friend of Parizaad through Nasaaz who lives in her house as a tenant.

Lubna/ Mahpara Begum

Lubna studies in the same university where Parizaad admits after college. She becomes a friend of his due to his poetry. She is a strong headed woman but her life is controlled by her mother who marries her in return of money.[4]

She is reintroduced in Parizaad life after some years and joins showbiz.[5]

Agha Behroze Karim

Being a mafia boss, Agha Behroze Karim is a millionaire. Parizaad gets here and later hired as the personal security guard of Behroz's wife Lyla Saba by Behroz himself when he is sure of his loyalty.

Getting job for Karim brings a major change in Parizaad's life.

Lyla Saba

She was Agha Beroze Karim's wife frustrated by her loneliness. She had an extramarital affair which causes her murder. She manipulates Parizaad for her personal interest.[4][5]

Guru

He is a trans person and a guru for the unisex people. He encounters with Parizaad when the police tries to find the latter and he is to his place by Agha Behroze Karim's personal assistant.

Asad Mumtaz Malik portrayed the character in series and according to him he was influenced by a real life transgender whom he observed in his childhood.[8]

Badar Munir

She is a determined lady police officer who investigates the Lyla Saba's missing case. She does not make any compromise on her job and eventually solves the case successfully.

Nadia Afgan portrayed the character in the series and she termed it as most enjoyable character of her whole career.[9]

RJ Aini

She is a blind naive girl and an RJ by profession. She loves poetry and wants to marry Parizaad as she is a fan of her poetry. She make sculptures as well.[4][5] After her interaction with Parizaad, he falls for her.[10]
