In May 2015, Lions Gate Entertainment CEO Jon Feltheimer announced that they had "already begun early planning" for a Now You See Me 2 sequel called Now You See Me 3.[1] Lionsgate revealed in April 2020 that Eric Warren Singer would be the screenwriter for the film.[2] In September 2022, it was announced that Ruben Fleischer would direct the film while Seth Grahame-Smith replaced Singer as the screenwriter.[3] In April 2024, it was confirmed that Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo, Isla Fisher, Lizzy Caplan, Daniel Radcliffe, and Morgan Freeman would reprise their roles from the previous films with Ariana Greenblatt, Dominic Sessa, and Justice Smith joining the cast.[4] Singer, Graham-Smith, and Mike Lesslie wrote the final script, with Bobby Cohen, and Alex Kurtzman set to produce.[4] In May, Rosamund Pike joined the cast in an undisclosed role.[5]
