The Minister of defense (Lao: ລັດຖະມົນຕີກະຊວງປ້ອງກັນປະເທດ, romanized: ladthamonti kasuangpongkanpathed) is the head of the Ministry of Defense and is responsible for the Lao People's Armed Forces.
