Mamulan (Persian: معمولان)[a] is a city in the Central District of Mamulan County, Lorestan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[4] It also serves as the administrative center for Mamulan Rural District.[5] The city was previously the capital of the former Mamulan District of Pol-e Dokhtar County.[6]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 7,633 in 1,725 households, when it was in the former Mamulan District of Pol-e Dokhtar County.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 7,502 people in 1,993 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 7,656 people in 2,344 households.[2]

In April 2023, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Mamulan County. The city and the rural district were transferred to the new Central District, with Mamulan as the county's capital.[4]
