Magzhan Zhumabayev (Kazakh: Мағжан Жұмабаев ауданы, Mağjan Jūmabaev audany) is a district of North Kazakhstan Region in northern Kazakhstan. The administrative center of the district is the town of Bulayevo.[3] Population: 34,055 (2013 estimate);[2] 36,924 (2009 Census results);[4] 49,679 (1999 Census results).[4]
The district was renamed in 2000 after Kazakh writer and poet Magzhan Zhumabayev. Formerly it was known as Bulayevsky District.
Geography
[edit]Part of swampy lake Shelegino lies close to the Kazakhstan–Russia border in the northeastern limit of the district.[5]
