M. R. Mathias is an American author. His works include The Wardstone Trilogy,[2] the Dragoneer Saga,[3] The Legend of Vanx Malic fantasy adventure series, and the Crimzon & Clover Short Story Series. He also wrote the four-book Fantastica series and the Dragon Racers series.

Biography

Michael Robb Mathias was born July 20, 1969 in the outskirts of Oklahoma City. He graduated from high school in 1987 and received a scholarship to study creative writing at East Central University in Oklahoma.[citation needed] He then went on to study creative writing at the University of Oklahoma.[citation needed]

After college, he worked in the steel industry, for TG Steel and DPR Construction.[citation needed] From 2000-2004, he participated in the building of the Alliance Parkway.[citation needed]

Writing

Mathias wrote several novels in longhand while incarcerated in a Texas prison for drug possession.[4][5]

After his release, he moved to Houma, Louisiana, to care for his grandmother.[citation needed] He then entered his handwritten novels into a word processor and began writing The Dragoneer Saga.[citation needed] After his grandmother's death, he moved back to Oklahoma to assist his mother with cancer treatments.[citation needed]

Blood and Royalty, the sixth book of the series, was released on December 21, 2014.[6]

Mathias released the four-book Fantastica series in late 2017.[citation needed] He began releasing books from his Dragon Racers series in 2018.[citation needed]
