He was born in a Kapu family[3] in Yanam as the son of Former Maire de Yanaon, Kamisetty Venugopala Rao Naidu and Kamalamma.[4] He married Kamisetty Savithri of Badeti family hailing from Eluru.[5] He was an undisputed leader until his death in Yanam after his father.[6] He was co-brother of S.
