Career
[edit]Harrison has been a longtime aide to Melania Trump, working closely with her during the first presidency of Donald Trump and afterward.[1][2] During her tenure at Mar-a-Lago, she was identified in the indictment filed by special counsel Jack Smith as "Trump Employee 1" for her involvement in managing storage logistics for the former president's documents.[1][3] Specifically, she coordinated the movement of boxes from the business center at Mar-a-Lago to make space for staff.[1][2]
Harrison continued to serve Melania Trump in her post-White House years at the Trump family’s Palm Beach estate.[3] Harrison and her husband, William "Beau" Harrison, stayed closely connected to the Trumps after January 2021.[4] According to Federal Election Commission filings, they were listed as employees on Trump’s Save America political action committee payroll, with Harrison earning monthly payments ranging from $8,000 to $10,000 and her husband receiving comparable compensation until his final paycheck in late 2023.[4]
On November 22, 2024, Melania Trump announced Harrison’s appointment the Chief of Staff to the First Lady of the United States for her second tenure.[2][3] In this role, Harrison is tasked with overseeing the East Wing’s operations and serving as a strategic liaison with other parts of the government.[2][3] This appointment represents the first major staffing decision of Melania Trump’s second term as First Lady.[3]
