Firefight is a 1986 American short film directed by Sheldon Lettich set during the Vietnam War. Lettich was a Vietnam veteran and based the film on his experiences. Lettich originally wrote the story as a stage play Tracers (which had eight authors).[1]

The movie was shot in 1983 over two long weekends at the Marine Corps Base at Camp Pendleton, California.[2] Post production took several years due to lack of funds. However it was a success and launched his filmmaking career.[3][4]
