Laverne Cox

The VERY FIRST PERSON in this montage is not a woman by many people's definition. Furthermore, he is not notable, as the others in the montage are. His inclusion in the montage, and his position as the most prominent figure there, is evidence of flagrant POV-pushing: that is, the controversial idea that a person's sex is defined by their feelings. --NoPetrol (talk) 21:12, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

The article is indeed about sex. The first sentence in the article in question is "A woman is a female human." Female is the sex of an organism which produces non-mobile ova. I have not misgendered anyone. The term "he" refers to male organisms, regardless of their appearance or mental state (which is why the term is used to refer to male nonhuman animals and even to male life forms that are not animals), and so it is perfectly valid to use male-oriented pronouns to refer to Cox, and I will continue to do so for the sake of accuracy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NoPetrol (talk • contribs)

There are several layers of absurdity to the needless defacement of this image, but I think my favorite is that EvergreenFir seems to think "Orange is the New Black" is of greater cultural significance than the poetry of ancient Greece. Surely, the etmylogical source of the word "lesbian" is incomparable to someone who portrayed a secondary character on a sitcom. Maybe Sappho would seem more important to @EvergreenFir: if her works were featured on Netflix rather than in the Library of Alexandria. 24.121.155.235 (talk) 23:14, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
