File talk:William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) - Portrait de Mademoiselle Elizabeth Gardner (1879).jpg
If anybody is interested, take a look through Adolphe William Bouguereau's oeuvre and compare it with Gardner's pictures. You will see a distinct change of style from man to woman from William to Elizabeth. Then just believe what their pictures are telling you. Which Bouguereau was the Raphael of the nineteenth century? Look at the pictures of the Dahesh Catalog of the Ecole de Julian. Eeuu ... great art has it's scandals that will not just "go away." Look for mommy, daddy and daughter. This article is a stub because the Bohemians won't write it and I can't give u more than a Google seach, but just look at the pictures and don't believe what Art History wants us to believe. Pictures don't lie. Which is a whole lot more than I can write about "his" story. (All of those wars are public works projects gone wrong.)
