I believe this file is non-replaceable as this is a picture of the three main actresses at the premiere of their own show. This cannot be replaced with a fair use picture of them because that photo will not be relevant to the show and deserves to be on their own page.
Now having said that, there are individual headshots of each of the actresses in character available, but those are also not fair use and would mean three files would have to be uploaded instead of just one. Jayab314 01:42, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Edit to previous: I just found this photo that would be a good replacement that would fit the fair use criteria. Jayab314 01:47, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
- Per WP:NFC#UUI
Pictures of people still alive, groups still active, and buildings still standing; provided that taking a new free picture as a replacement (which is almost always considered possible) would serve the same encyclopedic purpose as the non-free image
. Considering these actors are all still alive a free replacement could be created, for example someone attended that event and took a picture than uploaded it to commons. If these actors were in character like this image here or this image it would be fine as the character does not exist in real life a free alternative could not be created. Similarly a photo like this is alright because they're on a closed set and this is the only time they'll all be together. With the image in question here the actors will likely either attend other events together, panels, etc. where free alternatives could be created. So relating it to this an image like this or this would be okay on a character page but this or this would not be because the former two are as character but the latter two are just as the actor. So fair use of character(s) = okay, but fair use of actor(s) = not okay. To fix it I would personally use this photo instead because again it could be claimed as fair use since it's as characters and not as actors. There's some reasoning with this discussion here. TheDoctorWho (talk) 03:29, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]- @TheDoctorWho: So, it would be alright to go ahead and replace the current, non-fair use file with this fair use photo? - I would upload it as a completely new file but yes I don't see why not. It would meet the criteria that this image failed because the actors only play their characters on television so all appearances of them are copyrighted and is therefore non-replaceable. So everything should be fine with that image. TheDoctorWho (talk) 19:54, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
- @TheDoctorWho: I uploaded the new photo at File:Why Women Kill, season 1 socialites.jpg. This file can be nominated for speedy deletion or we can wait until it gets deleted on August 24. Jayab314 20:07, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
- @Jayab314: We'll just let it run until August 24 and an Admin will come along and make the final decision. TheDoctorWho (talk) 20:42, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
