File talk:Western schism 1378-1417.svg
Appearance
This map is highly unaccurate. As Crown of Castile appears the then independent Kingdom of Navarre and Crown of Aragon. 79.109.146.190 (talk) 21:45, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- and then there's the whole Kingdom of Grenada thing.--NEMT (talk) 21:48, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- The map contains another error: Scania was not part of Sweden at the time, but of Denmark. Dan Villiom Podlaski Christiansen (talk) 17:09, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
Too many errors, removing the map
[edit]I'm removing the map as it's full of errors. Navarre is shown as being part of Castille, Scania is shown as being part of Sweden, the English possessions in France are shown as being part of France and I'm sure there are other errors as well, though I'm only familiar with the ones listed. As map that is this inaccurate detracts from the quality of articles in which it's included. Jeppiz (talk) 14:31, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- I agree completely. This map does not even show Europe well.--41.249.53.87 (talk) 15:53, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Another errors
[edit]- Some parts of the territory of the Holy Roman Empire are quite wrong, compare HRR_1400.png.
- The map suggests that the northern half of today's Italy was one unified country, which couldn't be more wrong; compare maps of Europe in 1360, 1400 and 1430.
- In the top right corner: Firstly, there was the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which was in union with the Kingdom of Poland since 1386, but it was a dynastic union only, and they were considered separate countries. Also, the border there between "HRE" (the State of the Teutonic Order, actually) and Poland/Lithuania was variable at this time (see here).
