These are almost identical to European playing cards; I have known them as "Italian" playing cards since 1960. They include 4 suits, gold coin, cup, club and sword, 1 to 7 plus the Jack, Queen and King, total 40 cards. These European based cards were likely brought to America by settlers, and a talented Apache with a penchant for playing cards made his own deck. 99.235.152.133 (talk) 03:56, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
